Checktrade - Toolie Talks

Many Makers approached me to work directly with their team producing a children’s animated series for UK tradesperson directory Checkatrade.

Lots of imagination and craft went into creating the world that Toolie the saw lives in, the characters encountered and making the stories engaging for young children.

FourFootEleven Illustration helped in producing initial sketches for the room layout, storyboards and helping conceptualise the characters that Toolie meets.

The characters were created in a mostly non-destructive pipeline, using Geometry-nodes and other Blender techniques to streamline the process of client changes.

The whole thing was rendered in EEVEE which helped bring down render time, despite lots of hair geometry on the main characters.

2 months from launch the videos had 2 million views and counting!
