My initial work at Banked was exploring potential motion options in After Effects with the marketing team. This test render showed a wide variety of possibilities and allowed us to refine what worked when abstracting ideas and dealing with both merchants and consumers. I also produced the first guidelines for how text animations, print and devices should appear in motion, and be consistent with the static visuals already in place. This was adapted over time as I helped implement more 3D concepts and effects to the brand.
The easing plugin I used, Flow, allowed for motion in After Effects to be easily duplicated with the same easing values in CSS for online interactions to maintain consistency.
For product demos it was best to simplify the interface down to the main elements the user would interact with to simplify the demo. Camera lens blur kept things looking interesting and not too flat. Some would be adapted for landscape and vertical formats too, so flexibility in the canvas was essential.
Banked has partnerships with Bank of America, National Australian Bank and FIS among others, so I was briefed on storyboarding and producing explainer videos conforming to their brand guidelines to explain the process of Pay by Bank for their merchants and consumers.
